The BCBCC Center for Culture & Commerce
The BCBCC’s Center for Culture and Commerce exists to foster economic empowerment and community revitalization throughout Beaufort County and its surrounding areas. We do this by supporting entrepreneurship, affordable housing development, and neighborhood improvement programs. Our efforts focus on expanding access to business and employment opportunities, increasing educational and training resources, and promoting upward mobility through entrepreneurship, with an intentional focus on serving historically marginalized communities.

We understand culture and arts as the heartbeat of our communities rooted in everyday people, neighborhood traditions, storytelling, craftsmanship, music, foodways, and creative practices passed down through generations. Culture lives in how people work, create, gather, and care for one another. By supporting artists, culture bearers, small businesses, as well as resident-led creative efforts, we invest directly in community knowledge and self-determination.

We use arts and culture as grassroots tools for economic opportunities, workforce development, and neighborhood revitalization helping residents turn creativity into livelihoods, preserve cultural identity, and shape development that reflects community values. Our work honors local heritage, strengthens community pride, and ensures that revitalization grows from the ground up, benefiting the people who have long called these neighborhoods home.
