Riverview Charter School Seeks Board Nominations

March 16, 2012

Riverview Charter School Board of Directors decided at the beginning of the year to take the steps necessary to further diversify the racial composition of this year's Board to better reflect our school community, student body and our community at large. The Board decided unanimously to amend our current by-laws to allow for an increase this year of up to three new Board positions for a total of 13.

Monday night, upon fulfillment of the required public readings of the proposed changes, the Riverview Board of Directors officially amended the by-laws, making way for a special election for new Board members. We are happy to open the nomination period as of today.

Service on the Riverview Board of Directors is incredibly important. We are looking for people with various backgrounds, skills and talents including experience in business, education, community service and administration. Please consider nominating individuals (including yourself!) who could help the school continue to build on its firm foundations. It is through the contributions of everyone in our community that we have become the truly special organization we are today, and we would encourage anyone to consider sharing their unique gifts in leading this school into the future.
